Interview to Noctem answers by Beleth (Noctem's singer)

======

El Nuevo CD/The New CD:

¿En el primer cancion, Popol Vuh, quien toca la bateria/percusion?

In the first track, who plays the percussion?

Beleth: Popol Vuh was recorded by some studiomusicians. It was composed by us and recorded in Firework Studios (Spain).

¿Cuantos dias o meses requerdan a recordar este CD, OBLIVION?

How many days or months did this CD take torecord, Oblivion?

Beleth: It didn't took more than 18 days to recordthe whole album. During those 18 days of recordings we did a break of 2 days. We moved to Barcelona (2400 Kilometers, around 1500 miles) to perform in a big extreme metal festival in Spain. So those 16 days were enough to record everything.

¿La Cancion, Invictus, que es el tema?

What is the theme/idea behind the trackInvictus?

Beleth: Invictvs speaks about human subconscious andaltered states of it  caused by psychotropic effects; through a extracorporeal trip millions of past lives are experimented beyond the human knowledge... and all those lives are real oral most real, but when divine will is the objective to be found, is not possible to find it because is an illusion which appears neither in those altered states.

¿Los Usan Protools en algos partes?

Did you use Protools for different parts?

Beleth: Not exactly, in studio Cardoso used Nuendo, very similar to Protools and Qbase, just to record guitars, bass, vocals and drums.

What brand of guitars did Helion and Exo usefor this recording and why?

Beleth: This time they used ESP and Mayones guitars, recording with Diezel Herbert heads.

When your tour for Oblivion, will you beplaying all the new songs?

Beleth: We started the Oblivion Spanish tour in Mayof 2011. After that we've been on tour presenting the album in Europe withSamael, Keep of Kalessin and Melechesh and we've performed in differentnational festivals. After the North American release of Oblivion we're preparing everything to give the best of us in Europe and North America.

====

El Grupo/The Band:

¿Se Parece que BEHEMOTH tenemos mucho influencia a Noctem, es la verdad?

It appears that Behemoth has a lot ofinfluence on Noctem, is this true?

Beleth: Not necessary. Behemoth is one of those bands that comes from the called  polish extreme metal phenomenon like Decapitated, Vader or Hate, Behemoth are the absolute leaders of the genre. I don't really consider that we are musically in the line of Behemoth, we fucking love them but we like to interact and introduce in our music different styles and I don't consider Noctem as a very purist band.

Sus Planes Futuros/Your Future Plans:

¿Tiene planes para venir y tocar en los EEUU y Canada en el ano 2012?

Do you have plans to tour the US and Canadain 2012?

Beleth: We are receiving very good offers for 2012,for Europe and NorthAmerica, but can't tell anything for the moment.

The names of each person in the group are nottheir birthnames, what is the idea behind the use of fictional names?

Beleth: The stage names were chosen by each member of the band and they reflex the personality and character of each member. It wouldn't be appropiate to use our original names and normally we prefer to keep it as a secret.

What is the most obscure group you like?

Beleth:  LadyGaga... nag I'm joking. I've a special appreciation to The True Gorgoroth, Belphegor or Inquisition.

¿Has conocido a su músicofavorito o banda antes?

Have you met your favorite musician/groupbefore?

Beleth: There are a lot of bands that I like, but don't have a favourite. I don't think I have a favourite band or musician in this moment.

====

Is religion and faith the same or are they different things?

Beleth: Today I thought about it by some unfortunate events in my family. I firmly believe that they have nothing to do. Both are different concepts. Faith is simply the need of the weak, of the person steppedin desperation to believe in something more. Is the coward's evasion formula that can't cope with everyday life situations.  Religions are the bread of the people, give them a bit and they will want more and more.

Pure weapons of social control and extinction of human will. In my perfect world religion would be punishable by death penalty. I think faith and religion are separate but linked together.

Many groups sing God being non‐existent,do you agree? If yes, why? If not, why not?

Beleth: I think it exists ... but like Friedrich Nietzsche said: “God is dead”. Since antiquity God has only been a weapon of ecclesiastical bodies to carry out the will of a few. As a band we don't use an antichristian topic or exclusively antichristian lyrics as the purist Norwegian Black Metal bands do.

Do you have hope for the European ecomonia and the world?

Beleth: We're from Spain, possibly one of the countries where we are being more conscious about the crisis and unemployment. This country is sinking in shit  and we see our european “leaders” trying to find their balls and do something productive to improve this situation. Seeing the news it doesn't seem that EEUU is going much better than us. This is not a worldwide crisis, ask China.

Do you believe in the boogie man?

Beleth: ¿...? I will think about it and give you an answer in the next interview.

¿Se existe mal/malvado?

Does evil exist?

Beleth: Do you need proofs about it? I really believe in that, evil lives in everyone of us. Two hours ago I saw through the internet how a mexican narco was decapitated by another guy with a chainsaw, it makes you think, you know? Not about death or suffering of those people, just about what the hell can have someone in mind to kill another person in that way. That is another proof of the low value of a ephemeral human life and ofthe evil that lives in the inside of all beings.

If evil exists, do you think it is good orbad for the people?

Beleth: Leaving aside the idea of ambiguity in theword "evil" , what is bad for me can be good for you. It's not good or bad. It's basically necessary. The community, the people need to feel miserable, they need that negativity which links them to self destruction. We're a self-destructive and parasitic specie and evil in itself creates an overwhelming rejection and attraction for the man.

Muchas gracias por su tiempo.

Thank you very much for your time.
